Wives of the Bible

I’m so excited to be a part of the launch team for “Wives of the Bible: 25 Easy Lessons You Can Learn from These Imperfect Women That Will Radically Transform Your Marriage”

Jolene’s book is such an easy read and the lessons are clear cut and extremely important as we all strive towards a more Biblical marriage with our husbands. Her writing is deep but concise and to the point. She makes these 25 wives very relatable and it’s easy to understand what each of them can teach wives today. Engle’s heart for the Lord shines through in her writing!

This book only took me a few days to read and I’m anticipating that I’ll read it again in the near future with a more teachable mind/spirit (i.e. I’ll take notes this time!) Even though I read through it pretty quickly, each lesson made me stop and ponder how/if it applied in my marriage. This reflection was aided by the fact that each chapter ended with a “Lessons Learned from…” & an “Application” section. It pretty much makes learning something from each Biblical Wife a fool proof task =)

I was truly blessed by this book & I hope that you will consider reading it for yourself! I’m positive that it will bless you and help your marriage become more and more of a reflection of how Christ loved the church. I know I’ve already started applying some of the lessons I’ve learned into my own marriage (specifically “The Wife Who Placed a Higher Priority on Her Motherhood vs. Her Marriage” and “The Bitter Wife”). Here’s a preview list of some of the Wives that Jolene teaches on:

-The Contentious Wife
-The Discouraging Wife
-The Worldly Wife
-The Unloved Wife
-The Redeemed Wife
-The Wife of Sweet Purfume
-The Wife Who Didn’t Nag
-The Respectful Wife
-The Transformed Wife
-The Bride of Christ

I have been married 6 years! Starting the 7th year is somewhat nerve racking because so many people say it is the hardest and with a 3 yr old ans a newborn I’m tempted to believe them!
